Mythological World vs Today

We live in a society where all of us are taught the mythology of our culture and religion as a mandatory dialect to be learnt. They say that those historical tales will teach us the art of living a life full of peace and will make us a scholar and will ultimately lead us closer to the almighty himself!

But are those people following anything that is mentioned in those holy scripts? Well we can't say that for sure.

The holy scripts advise us to be subtle and kind and honest, and they also warn us about the cruelties that exist in our world not from this eon but from hundreds of eons. But today's society is not following what the wise men and women said in those scripts they just regard them as Gods and pray for them to maintain the balance of virtue while they keep on committing sins.

  As stated in the holy script of Mahabharata, "Whatever actions are performed by a man under whatever circumstances, he gets the fruits of those actions under whatever circumstances they may be performed.", and that is what we call karma. Still the mankind tries everything they can to change that karma or fate by any means possible: Saam, daam, dannd, bhed. When Kauravas try to disrobe Draupadi in front of the entire court in order to insult the Pandavas, Lord Krishna came to rescue her, but in today's time why do we wait for another Lord Krishna to come to the aid of a women being molested or catcalled?

In Ramayana, Devi Sita who is considered a Goddess had to give the proof of her purity again and again yet still bear the weight of suffering because of the burden laid upon her and Lord Ram by the society. Similarly in today's world the victims of Rapes, Acid Attacks and harassment suffer the same fate as Devi Sita suffered in Ramayana. The world today preach the tales of Lord Ram and Devi Sita yet never realize their own actions.

In the Bhagwad Gita it is said that,"BG 2.66: But an undisciplined person, who has not controlled the mind and senses, can neither have a resolute intellect nor steady contemplation on God. For one who never unites the mind with God there is no peace; and how can one who lacks peace be happy?" The Quran states that, “O You who believe! Enter absolutely into peace (Islam). Do not follow in the footsteps of satan. He is an outright enemy to you.” (Holy Quran: 2, 208) and “There is no compulsion where the religion is concerned.” (Holy Quran: 2/ 256). Similarly in Bible, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness."

 All the religious scripts state the same thing that love and peace are the only path to true salvation. Yet mankind today does the opposite in the name of religion, cast and creed. The Holy scripts have just become tales to be sung and not the path to attain virtue.
